The case I bought for my 18 Pro keeps lifting slightly at the lower corner whenever I take it out of my pocket, and the loose fit is already getting annoying. I tried removing and reseating it, but the corner still pops up.
What case are you running on the 18 Pro, and does it fit securely without making the buttons stiff or adding too much bulk?
Don’t keep reseating a case that pops off at the same corner. That usually means the shell is slightly warped, the lip was molded poorly, or a screen protector is pushing against it. Take the protector out of the equation once if you can. If the corner still lifts, return the case.
For a slim replacement, I’d look at Apple’s Silicone or TechWoven case first. The price is harder to justify, but the fit and button alignment should be less of a gamble this early in the phone’s release. The silicone version will grip a pocket more, while TechWoven should slide in and out with less resistance.
Spigen’s thinner cases are another option if you want something less expensive, but check that the listing is specifically made for the current phone. Some early marketplace listings reuse old photos or packaging, and a tiny difference around the camera or button cutouts can cause exactly this kind of corner lift.
Whichever case you choose, press each corner with the phone installed before throwing away the packaging. A properly fitted case should snap back immediately and stay seated when you push sideways near the lower edge. Stiff buttons sometimes loosen with use, but a corner that already pops free rarely gets better.
A case that catches on your pocket now is going to get more irritating, not less. Pocket friction is probably grabbing the lower lip, but a correctly sized case should still stay locked around the corner.
I’d skip another hard, ultra-thin shell and try a matte TPU case with flexible corners and a continuous bottom edge. Those tend to absorb the tug instead of popping loose. I wouldn’t assume you need to pay Apple’s price either. Fit matters more than the logo, and buying somewhere with easy returns is useful while accessories are still rolling out.
@0xloop7 is right about checking the screen protector, especially if it extends close to the edge. If the case lifts with the protector removed, I’d return it rather than trying tape or heating the shell into shape.
A rigid snap-on shell will pop loose much faster than a hybrid case with a grippy bumper and firmer back. I’d switch to the latter, preferably with individual speaker and charging-port cutouts so the bottom edge stays anchored. Before ordering, double-check that your current case isn’t for a neighboring model since tiny dimension differences often show up exactly like this.
Don’t wedge tape or anything else into that corner to make it hold. It may stop the movement for a day, but it can trap grit against the frame and turn a cheap case problem into scratches on the phone.
Before blaming the screen protector, check whether you have anything sandwiched behind the phone. Lanyard tabs, magnetic plates, skins that wrap around the edge, and even a thick sticker can push the bottom rail outward just enough for a pocket seam to catch it. That’s especially common with tether tabs coming through the charging opening. Try the case with the phone completely bare inside.
For a replacement, I’d choose a one-piece case with slightly raised sides, covered buttons, and no giant open section across the bottom. A smooth back with textured side rails is a better pocket setup than an entirely rubbery case. You get some grip while holding it without having the whole thing drag the pocket lining out with the phone.
I’m less convinced that price guarantees a perfect fit. Cases can vary from one production batch to another. If a bare phone still makes that same corner lift, exchange it while you can and don’t wait for it to “settle.” A loose lower corner usually turns into a dusty lower corner pretty quickly.
