My Xiaomi Smart Band 10 suddenly stopped syncing with my phone after a recent update, and now notifications and fitness data are missing. I’ve already tried reconnecting it and restarting both devices, but nothing has fixed it. I need help figuring out what caused this and how to get it working again.
This looks like an app permission or sync database issue after the update.
Try this in order.
-
Update both apps.
If you use Mi Fitness, update it from Play Store or App Store.
If you still have Zepp Life installed, remove it. Running both breaks sync for some bands. -
Clear app cache and data.
On Android, Settings, Apps, Mi Fitness, Storage, Clear cache, then Clear data.
Then log in again and pair the band fresh.
This fixes a lot of post-update sync bugs. -
Re-check permissions.
Give Mi Fitness access to:
Notifications
Bluetooth
Location
Background activity
Battery unrestricted
On Android 13 and up, notification access gets reset after updates. Super common. -
Unpair the band from Bluetooth settings too.
Do not only remove it inside the app.
Forget the band in phone Bluetooth settings, then pair again from inside Mi Fitness only. -
Force a sync trigger.
Change one setting on the band, like watch face or vibration.
Then open Mi Fitness and pull down to sync.
If steps sync but notifications do not, it is permissions, not pairing. -
Reboot the band fully.
Not a soft reconnect. Power it off, wait 30 sec, turn it back on. -
Last step, factory reset the band.
Band Settings, System, Reset.
You will lose local data not synced yet, so do this last.
A lot of Xiaomi updates bork sync for a bit. If your fitness data is missing from old days too, check if you got logged into a diff account by mistake. Sounds dumb, but it happens lol.
I’d add one thing @nachtschatten didn’t really touch: check whether the update changed your phone’s battery optimization profile globally, not just for Mi Fitness. On some Xiaomi, Samsung, and Pixel phones, the system starts putting companion apps to sleep harder after an OS or app update, so the band looks “paired” but background sync is basically dead. Notifications vanish first, then workout data lags or never uploads.
Also, I kinda disagree with clearing app data right away unless you’re fine redoing everything. Sometimes that just creates more annoyng setup work and doesn’t fix the real cause.
A few diff things to try:
- Turn off any VPN or private DNS for a bit
- Disable Bluetooth scanning restrictions if your phone has them
- Check date/time sync on both phone and band. Wrong time can break health data merging
- See if the band firmware update actually completed. Half-finished firmware installs cause weird stuff
- Log into Mi Fitness on another phone if possible. If it syncs there, the band is fine and your phone config is the problem
If old fitness history is missing too, I’d suspect account/server sync more than the band itself tbh.
